The key figure for admission is five credits including English Language and Mathematics, since most universities and polytechnics require it. That rate fell by about 1.6 percentage points, according to TheCable. NECO said the South-West had the highest share of candidates with five credits and above.
About 1,334 candidates with special needs also sat for the 2026 exam, including candidates with hearing and visual impairments.
What to Do After Checking Your NECO Result
Upload your result to JAMB. If you’re seeking admission this year, add your O’Level result to your JAMB profile through CAPS or an accredited JAMB centre.
