NVIDIA is gradually turning out to be one of the biggest winners of the artificial intelligence boom. Although it first became famous for making chips that power video game graphics, it has now evolved into a major provider of AI infrastructure.
Nvidia now holds a market value of about $5.6 trillion and employs over 40,000 people.
While Africa’s participation in the global AI race at the continental level has been relatively limited, a growing number of Africans are contributing to the field through roles at leading AI companies, including Nvidia. In this article, we spotlight 16 Nigerians who work at Nvidia.
Adeola Adesoba
In 2017, Adeola Adesoba and her husband left Lagos so he could start graduate school in Tennessee. She joined Nvidia’s new-college-grad solutions architect rotation programme in 2022. Today, she works as a solutions architect at the company where she builds and deploys agentic AI systems for Fortune 500 clients.
Before Nvidia, she held roles at the Lagos State Government and Access Bank. At Nvidia, she has updated the NVIDIA RAPIDS documentation, supported DGX SuperPOD customers integrating Run:ai, and helped build one of the first Nvidia AI Blueprint launchables with Brev. She graduated from the University of Ilorin with a second-class upper degree in statistics.

Agbroko Oghenero
After six years working within Apple’s chip group, Agbroko Oghenero moved to Nvidia’s Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) team as a senior engineer. Outside of his work at Nvidia, he is an active voice in the hardware engineering community and previously interned at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in Delta State. He is a second-class upper graduate of the University of Benin, where he studied electrical and electronics engineering.
Basit Ayantunde
Basit Ayantunde’s code ships inside one of Nvidia’s most-used open-source data science libraries. He is an open-source contributor to RAPIDS cuDF, a GPU-accelerated Python DataFrame library, and now works as a senior systems software engineer at Nvidia. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs and Microsoft. He graduated from the University of Ilorin with a degree in mechanical engineering and has spent two years at Nvidia.
Clement Etienam
Clement Etienam has co-published research alongside Anima Anandkumar, Nvidia’s director of AI research and a Caltech professor, one of the most recognisable names in Nvidia’s AI research team. He is a senior DevTech engineer for energy at Nvidia and a graduate of the University of Lagos. He has been with Nvidia since April 2021, moving through three progressively senior roles within the company’s energy sector, including senior solutions architect and solutions architect for energy.
Emeka Obiodu
Before he began marketing Nvidia’s 5G and 6G business, Emeka Obiodu spent a decade as a telecoms analyst, authoring more than 300 industry reports. He has served as an instructor and speaker at Nvidia’s 6G Developer Day and at IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC) 2026 in Glasgow. He is also a named contributor to Nvidia’s work with 3GPP and the O-RAN Alliance on 6G standards. He now leads global marketing for Nvidia’s telecoms business unit, covering AI-on-5G and 6G. He graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, and started his career at Shell in Nigeria.
Femi Abolaji
Femi Abolaji has been a software engineer at Nvidia for about five years. Before that, he spent about four years at Andela. He studied computer science at the University of Ilorin. Abolaji also has experience in UI/UX design. He is inspired by African professionals excelling in their technology careers abroad.
Francis Etang
Francis Etang has spent nine months at Nvidia as a system validation engineer. He previously worked in contract roles at Ecobank and ExxonMobil. He studied petroleum and gas engineering at the University of Port Harcourt.
Kezie Iwueke
Kezie Iwueke works as an infrastructure automation engineer and senior software engineer at Nvidia, where he has spent seven months. He has previously worked at Google, Amazon AWS, and Cisco. His experience cuts across networking, compute, storage, etc. He studied computer engineering at Kampala International University, Uganda.
Omonayo Bolufawi
Omonayo Bolufawi has spent almost a decade at Nvidia, moving between two ranks: senior DFX engineer and DFT engineer. He graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, with a degree in physics and electronics.
Ona Ogbonna
Ona Ogbonna has worked as a senior systems safety engineer at Nvidia for about six years, after four years at Shell. She studied electronic engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and was part of a power plant project in Delta State. In her previous role at ZF Group, she developed steering electronics for passenger vehicles and trucks in a functional safety role that led to successful vehicle road releases.
Olawale Owoeye
Olawale Owoeye has spent two months at Nvidia in the Worldwide Field Organisation (WWFO) for Cloud Service Providers. He previously worked at Google and Cisco and spent two years at MTN. He studied electronics and electrical engineering at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.
Oyindamola Omotuyi
In 2017, Oyindamola Omotuyi graduated from UNILAG’s Systems Engineering department with a perfect 5.0 CGPA in the 2015/2016 session — the first female graduate and the first engineering-faculty student in UNILAG’s history to achieve this.
She has spent almost three years at Nvidia as a technical marketing engineer focused on robotics. Before her current role, she was a product marketing manager intern focused on the robotics developer community and authored the “Introduction to NVIDIA Conversational AI” eBook. She holds a B.S. in systems engineering from UNILAG.
Sesan Adeniyi
Sesan Adeniyi has worked as a senior solutions architect for AI and HPC data centres at Nvidia for about two years. She previously worked at KPMG Nigeria and studied electrical engineering at the University of Ilorin.
Temi Lajumoke
Temi Lajumoke has been a staff software engineer for AI at Nvidia for nine months, after almost four years at Amazon. He has also worked at Gokada, Andela, and Coursera. He studied physics at the University of Lagos.
Tosin Adesuyi
Tosin Adesuyi teaches Nvidia’s AI software to some of Europe’s national supercomputing centres and is a named Nvidia-affiliated instructor for EuroCC HPC bootcamps. He has spent almost six years at Nvidia as a technical program manager, working across South Korea and Germany. He studied computer science at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Yewande Ade-Arigbabuwo
Yewande Ade-Arigbabuwo has spent about three years at Nvidia as a senior supply planning operations lead for boards and systems. She previously worked at the Ebonyi State Department of Works and is a first-class graduate of architecture from Covenant University.
