How to watch EPL, La Liga, and Serie A matches in Nigeria in 2026

To watch EPL, La Liga, and Serie A matches in Nigeria in 2026, you have several legal options, including DStv, GOtv, DStv Stream, StarTimes, and SportyTV. The cheapest option is SportyTV through its YouTube channel, while the most complete option is DStv Premium at ₦44,500 per month.

Mobile viewers can watch matches through DStv Stream, which has replaced Showmax as MultiChoice’s main streaming platform after Showmax shut down in April 2026.

Where to watch EPL matches in Nigeria

The English Premier League (EPL) is available on DStv, GOtv, DStv Stream, and SportyTV. MultiChoice holds the exclusive pay-TV rights for all 380 live matches each season.

DStv

DStv is the most complete option for Premier League coverage. The service shows matches on SuperSport channels, including SuperSport Premier League, SuperSport Action, and SuperSport Football. The package you pick decides how much you can watch.

  • DStv Premium costs ₦44,500 per month and includes all 380 live matches in HD with full coverage.
  • DStv Compact Plus costs ₦30,000 and shows the biggest weekend games.
  • DStv Compact costs ₦19,000 and covers main EPL matches plus FA Cup and Carabao Cup games.
  • DStv Yanga costs ₦6,000 but does not include live EPL matches. It only provides highlights and news on SuperSport Blitz.

Live Premier League matches require DStv Compact (₦19,000) or a higher package. You can renew your subscription using the *288# USSD code, the MyDStv app, online banking, or payment platforms like Bigisub, VTpass, and Payora.

DStv Stream

Since Showmax shut down on April 30, 2026, MultiChoice has moved its streaming services to DStv Stream. The service lets you access DStv without a dish, decoder, or installation. You can pick your package and start watching on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs. Unlike Showmax’s former mobile-focused offering, DStv Stream gives subscribers access to their chosen DStv package across supported devices.

GOtv

GOtv is a good choice for viewers who do not want a satellite dish. It uses a regular TV antenna to bring digital television to your home.

  • GOtv Supa Plus costs ₦16,800 per month and offers full live EPL matches through a dedicated SuperSport Premier League channel.
  • GOtv Supa costs ₦11,400 and provides broad EPL coverage, including for weekend games.
  • GOtv Max costs ₦8,500 and includes selected live matches.
  • GOtv Jolli costs ₦5,800, GOtv Jinja costs ₦3,900, and
  • GOtv Smallie costs ₦1,900.

These packages do not include live EPL matches, only highlights.

Where to watch La Liga matches in Nigeria

Spanish football has a wider range of viewing options in Nigeria. Coverage is spread across SuperSport, StarTimes, and SportyTV.

DStv and GOtv

La Liga is available on cheaper packages compared to the Premier League.

  • DStv Confam at ₦11,000 per month includes La Liga matches on the SuperSport La Liga channel.
  • DStv Yanga at ₦6,000 also covers some La Liga games.

On GOtv, GOtv Max at ₦8,500 provides live La Liga coverage. This means you can follow Real Madrid and Barcelona without paying for the most expensive packages.

StarTimes

StarTimes is another affordable option for watching La Liga. Its Classic package costs ₦6,000 for antenna users or ₦7,400 for dish subscribers, offering selected La Liga fixtures alongside Copa del Rey matches. For fans who want every league game, the Super package costs ₦9,500 (antenna) or ₦9,800 (dish) and includes full La Liga coverage in HD.

SportyTV

Selected La Liga matches are also available through SportyTV’s free broadcasts on StarTimes channels and the Sporty.com app. Coverage is limited to only a few matches each weekend.

Where to watch Serie A matches in Nigeria

Nigerian fans can follow Serie A through DStv, GOtv, StarTimes, and SportyTV. The availability across multiple platforms gives viewers different price options.

DStv and GOtv

DStv Confam at ₦11,000 per month includes live Serie A matches on SuperSport channels. GOtv Supa at ₦11,400 offers regular Serie A games and match summaries.

StarTimes

StarTimes provides the cheapest way to watch Serie A. The Basic package starts from ₦4,000 for antenna access or ₦5,100 for dish access, with live matches available through StarTimes World Football. The Classic package costs ₦6,000 for antenna users or ₦7,400 for dish subscribers and adds full HD access.

SportyTV

Selected Serie A matches are also available for free on StarTimes channels and the Sporty.com app.

SportyTV is currently one of the few free legal options for watching live European football in Nigeria. It is a 24/7 free-to-view sports channel available on digital terrestrial television, satellite, and mobile platforms.

SportyTV has sub-licensing agreements for some match packages, usually one or two games per weekend from the Premier League, Serie A, and Bundesliga. It does not offer full-season coverage. In Nigeria, you can watch it for free on StarTimes DTT Channel 258 and StarTimes DTH Channel 190. Even if you do not have an active StarTimes subscription, you can still receive SportyTV as a free signal.

SportyTV is only on StarTimes and the Sporty.com app. It is not on DStv or GOtv.

Free-to-air TV offers limited options. The Nigerian Television Authority sometimes shows big national events like the AFCON, but European club competitions are not shown live. Their coverage is usually just sports news and match clips.

Official YouTube channels are another good source for extra content. The Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A all have official channels with match summaries, goal videos, and interviews. SuperSport also has a YouTube channel with match highlights and analysis for African viewers.

What you need to stream football online

To stream football online in Nigeria, you need a stable internet connection, a working device, and a subscription to a legal platform.

Internet requirements

Streaming quality depends on your internet speed. Standard definition at 480p requires 2 to 3 Mbps and consumes about 700 MB to 1 GB per match. High definition at 720p requires 5 to 8 Mbps and consumes 1.8 to 2.5 GB per match. Full HD at 1080p requires 10 to 15 Mbps and consumes 3 to 4.5 GB per match.

In major Nigerian cities, 4G and 5G networks from MTN, Airtel, Globacom, and 9mobile can handle HD streaming. But network slowdowns during big matches can sometimes affect performance. Many viewers also use telco streaming bundles to get cheaper data.

Device compatibility

Most legal streaming apps work on Android and iOS devices, smart TVs, and web browsers. DStv Stream, StarTimes ON, and Sporty.com all have mobile apps. Smart TVs with Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Android TV, and Amazon Fire TV support DStv Stream. You can also watch through web browsers on laptops and desktop computers.

Payment methods

You can pay for subscriptions using Naira debit cards, direct bank transfers, USSD codes, or using fintech and banking apps like Kuda, Stanbic IBTC, and Zap.

VPN considerations

You do not need a VPN to watch officially licensed Nigerian streaming services. DStv Stream and StarTimes ON are designed for Nigerian users. Using a VPN can actually cause problems because these platforms often detect and block VPN traffic.
