AI coding startup Replit has acquired Atta, a business analysis and charting company, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition comes a few months after Replit raised $400 million and saw its valuation rise to $9 billion.

Replit has already deployed its first native feature powered by Atta’s engine. Users can now upload datasets or connect live data sources directly within a Replit chat thread and query the information using natural language.

Atta’s data analysis and visualisation capabilities will be added to Replit’s infrastructure to help users understand business data. The founders, Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa, will also be joining the Replit team.

Atta’s relationship with Replit dates back to angel investments from its founder and CEO, Amjad Masad, and president, Michele Catasta. Shaik also shared that the investment came with an offer to work from Replit’s offices.

“We’re excited to continue our mission at Replit, where it will reach business leaders everywhere. Joining Replit means the world to me,” he wrote in a LinkedIn post.

Replit believes that in the future of self-driving companies, data analysis should sit inside the arena, not in a separate tool or specialist workflow.

“We’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to build the self-driving company. A big part of that is putting the ability to understand a business in everyone’s hands. Atta has built a beautiful approach to business analysis and data visualisation, and they share our belief that useful intelligence should be accessible to everyone,” Mossad said.

The move expands Replit’s role in the business workflow from creating software to interpreting the data that can inform what gets built next.

It also reflects a broader shift in how companies are positioning AI tools. Rather than limiting AI to generating code or answering questions, Replit is putting analysis, visualisation, and subsequent action into the same environment.

This acquisition comes just weeks after Replit established its first international hub in London to lead its European, Middle Eastern, and African (EMEA) operations.
