HustleSasa, a Nairobi-based creator-commerce platform, has raised new funding from Impacc, a German non-profit venture capital firm. The investment will help HustleSasa expand beyond ticketing into a full-fledged fintech platform for creators and event organisers. The amount raised has not been disclosed.
HustleSasa was founded in 2021 by Peng Chen and Michael Denuh. The platform lets event organisers create event pages, sell tickets, and accept mobile money and card payments. It also offers tools for marketing, check-ins, and merchandise sales.
The company got its start through the Antler East Africa accelerator, where Antler served as its pre-seed investor, putting in $100,000. Other early backers include Musha Ventures and Microtraction. Best Nights VC, the venture arm of German spirits maker Mast-Jägermeister, also invested in the company in February 2025.

Impacc is leading the new round and brought in other investors, though their identities and the size of their stakes have not been made public.
Impacc’s model is unusual: it is a non-profit that converts donations from companies and individuals into equity investments in African startups, rather than giving out grants.
The organisation was founded by former Welthungerhilfe CEO Till Wahnbaeck and Jochen Moninger, and it says its goal is to help African founders create jobs at scale.
Commenting on the investment, Wahnbaeck said, “Peng is one of those founders who combines intelligence, speed and an almost frightening level of diligence with a very clear sense of what creators across Africa actually need.”
HustleSasa now operates in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa. The company says it has processed more than 520,000 tickets across more than 2,500 live events.
Wahnbaeck said the company’s data shows that for every 10 tickets sold, one gig worker is employed, including security staff, catering teams, gate staff, stage builders, and technicians, supporting thousands of livelihoods in the creative economy.
Beyond ticketing, HustleSasa has added bulk messaging, email campaigns, affiliate marketing, sales analytics, and financing products for event businesses.
