dLocal’s Ghana subsidiary, dLocal Ghana Limited, has received an Enhanced Payment Service Provider (EPSP) licence from the Bank of Ghana.
The licence lets dLocal operate directly in Ghana, without routing transactions through local intermediaries. Before now, the company handled Ghana-related payments through its global platform and regulated third-party partners.
With the licence, dLocal can now connect directly to mobile money networks and bank accounts, collect payments locally rather than through a partner, acquire and onboard merchants directly, pay out funds locally through bank accounts and mobile money wallets, and process inbound remittances. In practice, this gives dLocal more control over how payments move inside Ghana, and should make it faster for the company to settle funds with local banks and mobile money providers.

“dLocal’s primary goal is to simplify the digital lives of Ghanaians by providing a more reliable and seamless way to transact,” said Oluwademilade Egbeyemi, Regional Expansion Manager, West Africa, at dLocal. “By operating under the guidance of the Bank of Ghana, we are building an infrastructure that gives people the confidence that their money is moving safely, whether they are a local business owner reaching new customers or a consumer paying for essential services.”
dLocal joins Flutterwave and Paystack, which already hold enhanced payment licences in Ghana, and Fincra, which secured its own PSP Enhanced licence from the Bank of Ghana in May. Ghana’s digital payments market has grown fast enough to explain the interest: mobile money transactions hit GH¢4.54 trillion in 2025, up more than 50% from the year before, according to Bank of Ghana data.
