The 2025 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold series continues with the FBK Games in Hengelo, Netherlands, on June 8, 2025.
The tour has traveled from Australia’s Sydney Track Classic since March 15, with recent highlights including Kenya’s meet in Nairobi and European stops in Zagreb and Poland. Dozens of competitions have taken place across Europe in recent weeks, setting the stage for this weekend’s action in the Netherlands.

Where is Africa in the continental tour so far?
African athletes are already making a mark in the 2025 World Athletics Continental Tour. Kenya’s Denis Kipkoech won the men’s 5,000 m in Zagreb, finishing ahead of Andrew Kiptoo Alamisi (also Kenyan) and Ethiopia’s Biniam Mehary.
South Africa’s Akani Simbine also posted a strong result, opening his season with a 9.99s finish in the 100 m, currently the world lead. These results signal a strong run-up to Tokyo 2025 World Championships.
