Three Ghanaian startups, Built Financial Technologies, GrowForMe, and SAYeTECH, have received a combined $500k investment from Village Capital through the Africa Ecosystem Catalysts Facility. The facility is a $4 million pilot investment facility backed by the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

So far, Village Capital says it has invested $850k in five startups. That includes funding to Riva Clinics and VDL Fulfillment in May 2026. Village Capital did not disclose how the capital would be distributed among the three startups.

“These startups are building practical, locally grounded solutions to challenges that affect how small businesses and farmers operate every day. What’s notable is that they’re not waiting for the infrastructure to catch up; they’re building it themselves. Getting the right capital behind them is how those solutions scale,” said Husein Merchant, Investment Officer at Village Capital.

Built Financial Technologies is a 10-year-old fintech that offers an all-in-one business management and cloud bookkeeping platform for small businesses.

Its customers leverage it to automate their financial workflows, build a financial track record, and bridge the gap to formal credit. The company has raised a total of $365,000, according to PitchBook, and claims to have onboarded about 15,000 SMEs across Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. It plans to use the funding to provide more capital for SMEs.

Backed by Google Black Founders Fund, develoPPP Ventures, and UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), GrowForMe is an agritech that allows retail investors, institutions, and the diaspora to finance smallholder farmers or fund commodity aggregation without physically owning or managing a farm.

SAYeTECH is an agricultural hardware and Internet of Things (IoT) technology company. The 2024 MEST challenge winner designs and manufactures smart, localised post-harvest machinery tailored to reduce labour and crop waste for African smallholder farmers.
