Seamfix Foundation Is Offering 100% Free Tech Training to Africa’s Brightest Graduates. Applications for Cohort 8 Are Now Open

The Seamfix Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Seamfix Limited, a pan-African digital identity and trust infrastructure company, has announced that applications are now open for Cohort 8 of its flagship NextGen Academy Scholarship Programme.

The programme offers a 100% free, six-month intensive technology training scholarship to recent graduates across Nigeria, as part of the Foundation’s broader goal of training over 10,000 technology talents across Africa by 2030.

Since the NextGen Academy was established, the programme has trained over 1,200 young Nigerians in high-demand technology skills, with 500 women among those supported. Cohort 8 continues that mission, offering fully funded training in two tracks: Full-Stack Engineering and Product Design, delivered through an AI-infused curriculum.

A Free, Intensive, and Fully Virtual Programme

The NextGen Academy Scholarship is designed to eliminate the most common barrier standing between talented Nigerian graduates and a career in technology: cost. The programme is completely free of charge, with no tuition fees, no hidden costs, and no financial obligations of any kind placed on participants.

Training is delivered virtually over six months, making it accessible to graduates across Africa regardless of their location. After the six-month training programme, graduates are placed within the organisation and partner companies to apply their skills, solve real business problems, and deliver meaningful impact. The curriculum is intensive by design, combining technical instruction with mentorship from industry professionals, career guidance, and access to a growing community of over 1,200 NextGen Academy alumni.

The Cohort 8 curriculum is built around the realities of today’s technology workplace, where AI tools are no longer optional. Participants will learn to build and design with AI integrated into their workflow from day one, leaving the programme not just technically skilled but immediately employable in an AI-driven industry.

Who Can Apply

Applications are open to recent graduates who meet the following criteria:

•  First Class or Second Class Upper degree

•  Graduate of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Fine Arts

•  Available to commit fully to a six-month intensive programme

•  Access to a laptop and reliable internet connection

Applications are open until July 17, 2026 and can be submitted at foundation.seamfix.com

Oluwatobi Akinwande, Head of People, Performance and Culture, Seamfix, said:

“What we have built with the NextGen Academy is more than a training programme. It is a deliberate intervention in the trajectory of young -African talent. Every cohort, we see graduates walk in with potential and walk out with the skills, confidence, and community to compete at the highest level of the technology industry. Cohort 8 is our most ambitious yet, and we are inviting the next generation of builders, designers, and engineers to be a part of it.”

As Africa’s digital economy continues to grow, the demand for skilled, job-ready technology talent has never been more urgent. Cohort 8 represents the NextGen Academy’s most forward-looking intake yet, with an AI-infused curriculum designed to ensure graduates are not just trained but immediately deployable.

Upon completion, high-performing graduates are considered for placement within Seamfix and its network of partner organisations to apply their skills on real business challenges from day one.
