The licence marks a significant step in Africhange’s expansion and strengthens its ability to provide secure, reliable cross-border payment services for Ghanaians at home and abroad.
Africhange, a global remittance company helping people move money across borders quickly, securely and affordably, has received a licence to operate as an International Money Transfer Operator in Ghana.
Granted by the Bank of Ghana, the licence authorises Africhange to provide international money transfer services in the country within Ghana’s regulated financial-services framework. It represents an important milestone in the company’s expansion across Africa and its broader mission to make cross-border payments more accessible, transparent and dependable.
The licence gives Africhange the regulatory foundation to develop remittance services around the specific needs of Ghanaian customers and their connections abroad.
Africhange is building a remittance experience designed around competitive exchange rates, transparent pricing, dependable delivery and responsive customer support.

“Securing our IMTO licence in Ghana is an important step in our commitment to building trusted financial infrastructure for Africans everywhere. Ghanaians are deeply connected to families, businesses and opportunities around the world. We want moving money across those connections to be simple, secure and fairly priced. This licence gives us the regulatory foundation to serve the Ghanaian market and build for its long-term needs” said David Ajala, Founder and CEO of Africhange.
The Ghana licence adds to Africhange’s growing regulatory footprint and reflects the company’s commitment to expanding responsibly. Rather than treating compliance as a box-ticking exercise, Africhange sees regulation as essential infrastructure: it protects customers, strengthens confidence in the remittance ecosystem and creates the foundation for sustainable growth.
With operations spanning key global markets, Africhange has continued to develop products that reflect how Africans actually live, work and move money. Its platform supports individuals, families and businesses navigating financial relationships across borders—from supporting loved ones to paying for essential needs and pursuing opportunities abroad.
“Expansion, for us, is not simply about entering more countries,” Ajala added. “It is about earning the trust required to serve each market properly. We are excited to bring that approach to Ghana and to work with local partners and regulators as we grow.”
Africhange will share further information about product availability, supported transfer routes and customer access in Ghana through its official channels.
