Maiaddy Business launches to help Nigerian businesses manage their digital identity

Nigerian location technology startup Maiaddy has launched Maiaddy Business, a platform that enables businesses to create, verify and manage their digital presence across the company’s ecosystem of location and business discovery products.

Available on the web and through the Maiaddy mobile app, the new platform is designed to give businesses a single place to manage essential information, including addresses, opening hours, contact details and business locations.

The company says the product addresses a problem for businesses that struggle to keep information consistent across multiple digital channels.

The launch builds on Maiaddy’s broader ambition to develop digital infrastructure around place identity in Nigeria.

Since introducing Loccodes — a human-friendly location reference system intended to simplify addressing and navigation — the company has expanded into mapping and business discovery.

Maiaddy Business represents the next layer of that strategy by focusing on verified business identity.

According to the company, businesses will be able to claim and verify their profiles, update operational information, and manage their presence from a single account. Maiaddy says future releases will introduce additional capabilities that help businesses understand how customers discover them and connect with other products across its ecosystem.

“Nigeria is a highly entrepreneurial country, so we’re launching Maiaddy Business now to provide Nigerian entrepreneurs with what is essentially a dedicated link between the loccode system and their entrepreneurial efforts,” Obinna Onyejeli, founder and CEO of Maiaddy, shared.

The company believes inaccurate business information remains a persistent challenge for many Nigerian businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises that often manage multiple digital platforms independently.

By centralising business information, Maiaddy hopes to reduce inconsistencies that can affect customer trust and business visibility.

“Users of Maiaddy Business get to benefit from free spatial marketing of their business on the Maiaddy app. No other platform provides any level of free marketing. We have a genuine interest in enabling commerce in Nigeria,” he said.

The launch also signals Maiaddy’s continued expansion beyond mapping into broader business infrastructure.

While the company, still in its early days, has not disclosed user numbers or adoption targets, the product positions it to play a larger role in how businesses establish and maintain their digital presence as more commerce moves online.
