According to Paystack co-founder and CTO, Ezra Olubi, the company has terminated his employment, albeit unfairly.
He made this disclosure on his personal blog, saying, “On Saturday, 22 November 2025, I was informed that my employment had been terminated.” He added, “This decision was taken…without any meeting, hearing, or opportunity for me to respond to the issues raised…”
Paystack has yet to affirm Olubi’s termination. Condia has reached out to the company for comments.
Olubi’s supposed termination comes on the back of several disturbing comments associated with his online profile, including sexual misconduct allegations with a subordinate. Since then, the Stripe-owned company has come under pressure to act on the matter. Paystack, in a statement shared with Condia, said that it is aware of the allegations and is conducting a formal investigation. In the meantime, it placed the co-founder under suspension from all duties and responsibilities.
Olubi claims that the “purported termination” is “in clear contravention of the terms of the suspension” which he engaged with “in good faith”.
However, now that things have gone awry, he will now handover to his legal team to advise.
“My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination…They will take the steps they consider appropriate,” Olubi said in his blog post. “I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time.”
Since there is no confirmation of the termination, it would be overambitious to state that Paystack has terminated Ezra Olubi’s employment. Although after this saga, it is hard to see both parties continuing in a long-term working relationship.
