Fast-food chain Tantalizers Plc has appointed award-winning filmmaker Tade Ogidan to its board of directors. The move is part of the company’s long-term plan to merge entertainment with its food business.

The appointment comes two months after Tantalizers acquired Ogidan’s media company, Grand Media Projects Limited, as a subsidiary.

“Mr. Ogidan’s appointment underscores our commitment to redefining how food and entertainment converge in Africa,” said Adam Nuhu, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “His creative genius will be instrumental in helping us scale our experiential and digital entertainment platforms while reinforcing our customer-centric and culturally resonant brand.”

Ogidan is one of Nigeria’s most respected filmmakers. He has directed and produced classics like Owo Blow and Saving Alero. On television, he has worked on The Village Headmaster, The Next Titan, and Crime Fighters: The Police TV Show. His works have also appeared on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and local TV stations.

His long career in storytelling and content creation is now seen as a key asset for Tantalizers’ next growth phase.

The company had previously faced steep financial challenges. In September 2024, Tantalizers reported a ₦231 million pre-tax loss. Since then, it has launched a restructuring program aimed at diversifying its portfolio.

Its key acquisitions include DanBethel Marine Services in December 2024 and Grand Media Projects Limited in May this year.

These deals, supported by investors, highlight Tantalizers’ ambition to grow beyond food into logistics and media.
