Selar, an e-commerce platform for digital creators, is supporting 150 Nigerian students with ₦10 million in the third edition of its annual tuition support program.

Selar is making the donation under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, the Smart Hustle Initiative.

“There is so much to the fraud culture in Nigeria today and the Smart Hustle Initiative is our response to it,” said Douglas Kendyson, CEO of Selar.

Douglas said the initiative aims to improve access to education and legitimate income paths as part of efforts to combat fraud. In May 2025, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said that 90% of individuals arrested for fraud were students.

Since its pilot phase in November 2025, the program has run awareness campaigns in schools across Lagos State. Selar says supporting students at key stages will help keep them in school.

Under the initiative, 50 final-year students in accredited tertiary institutions will receive ₦100,000 each, while 100 SS3 students will receive ₦50,000 each to prepare for WAEC and JAMB.

Founded in 2016, Selar has over 2.2 million users and 330,000 creators. The e-commerce platform, which operates without external funding, said it paid over ₦18 billion ($12.8 million) to users in 2025, almost double its 2024 figure.

Undergraduates applying must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 or 65%, show financial need, and submit a video statement, valid student ID, and transcript. SS3 applicants must provide proof of status, WAEC or JAMB registration, and a video application. An independent committee will review submissions.

Eligible students can apply between February 24 and March 13, 2026.
