Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

Director-General at World Trade Organization

About

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala leads the institution responsible for much of the global rules-based trading system. As Director-General of the World Trade Organization, she sits at the intersection of the policies governing how goods and services move between countries. Her career has also made her one of Africa's most influential global economic figures, including two terms as Nigeria's finance minister and a senior role at the World Bank. Okonjo-Iweala belongs on the Borderless 100 because Africa's borders are shaped not only in African capitals but also in the global institutions where the rules of trade are negotiated.
