Ola Oyetayo co-founded Verto to solve the problem businesses face when trade crosses borders but banking infrastructure does not. Its B2B platform lets companies send, receive and convert money across markets, supporting 49 currencies while reducing the intermediary costs that make African trade disproportionately expensive. In 2025, Verto won the $1 million Milken-Motsepe Prize in FinTech for its cross-border payments infrastructure. Oyetayo belongs on Borderless 100 because the biggest flows across Africa are not remittances but commerce: suppliers, exporters, marketplaces and businesses moving capital between economies.
