TechUnwind 2025 brought the vibes, the vision, and even empowered a lucky winner with a laptop

If you’re still seeing TechUnwind posts on your feed, it’s because people haven’t stopped talking about it, and for good reason.

On July 5, 2025, Lagos was lit up by the energy of TechUnwind by YellowLyfe, a one-day tech experience that was equal parts inspiration, culture, and connection. But beyond the games, panels, and premium after-party, something real happened: lives were impacted.

In a heartfelt moment that left the room buzzing, TechUnwind empowered a lucky winner with a laptop, a simple gesture with powerful meaning. For many, it wasn’t just a freebie. It was a tool to keep going, a sign they’re seen, a nudge forward on the journey.

“We’ve been saying from day one: TechUnwind is not just another event; it’s about access, joy, and showing people that there’s room for them in this ecosystem,” said Seyi Olaniyan, the convener. “This laptop giveaway wasn’t PR. It was our heart.”

What Really Went Down at TechUnwind 2025?

TechUnwind 2025 was hosted at Gameland, Lekki Coliseum, and welcomed over 500 attendees from across the tech, creative, and startup scenes. We had developers, designers, founders, content creators, freelancers, product managers, career-switchers, students, the unsure-but-curious, and everyone in between.

There were games and competitions that sparked unexpected friendships, a chance to rep your industry with exclusive merch (and people did, proudly), the kind of networking that didn’t feel like work, and an after-party that turned the room into a full-blown rave, powered by DJ PeeJaay, DJ Rhell, and DJ Benzo

The brands that backed TechUnwind 2025

The heart of TechUnwind beats stronger because of the brands that believed in it:

Khaime.ai, Cleva, ShareShopShip, GetSeen, and more stepped up not just as sponsors, but as true ecosystem partners bringing real support, visibility, and energy.

Shoutout to the media partners too: Techpressionews, Semudara Abayomi, Condia, Unbury, and TechClout Africa. Thank you for telling this story with us.

So what’s next?

We go continental.

TechUnwind Accra lands in Ghana on August 31st with the same energy but a whole new story to tell.

If TechUnwind Lagos showed us anything, it’s that there’s a deep hunger for spaces that feel good, where people can be seen, heard, and held with or without fancy job titles, and we are spreading this all around Africa.
