Sidebrief, the regulatory technology startup that helps businesses handle incorporation and compliance across African markets, is launching a quarterly event series called Signal. The company is partnering with Diligence Africa and Impact Hub Lagos on the initiative.
The first edition holds on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Impact Hub Lagos (22 Glover Road, Ikoyi), running from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM with networking and drinks afterward.
What is Signal?
Signal is a panel-driven event — no keynotes, no product demos. Each edition will feature 20 speakers across 5 moderated panel conversations, all packed into a single afternoon. The idea, according to Sidebrief, is to get the people who are actually building, funding, and regulating startups in Africa to have direct conversations with each other.
For the inaugural edition, the five panel themes are: Regulatory and Operations; Ecosystem and Start-up Support; Raising Capital and Investment; Scaling and Expansion; and Founder Stories and Media.

Who is speaking?
The speaker list spans operators, investors, lawyers, and journalists. Confirmed names include Seyi Babatunde (HR Leverage), Usman Sotunde (Sidebrief), and Temidayo Ajayi (Detail Solicitors) on the regulatory panel; Kevwe (Impact Hub Lagos), Samuel Orji, Ina Alogwu (T2 Mobile/ARM), and Ayo Arikawe (Velocity Capital) on the ecosystem panel; and Fisayo (Enza Capital), Damilola Thompson (Diligence Africa), and Taiwo Kamson (EchoVC) on the capital panel.
The scaling panel features Nnamdi Okoh (Terminal Africa), Frank Atube (Seamfix), and Tobi Odukoya (CDCare). The closing session on founder stories and media brings together Isaac John (Zabira), Folake Edun (Towntalk), Emmanuel Nwosu (TechCabal), and Asukwo Oduo (Techpoint Africa).

Why this matters
Sidebrief says the event comes from what it sees every day working with startups on their compliance and corporate structuring. The company says founders, investors, regulators, and operators often operate in silos, leading to misalignment on governance, fundraising readiness, and expansion planning. Signal is meant to be a recurring space where those conversations happen face-to-face.
The company plans to run Signal every quarter, with fresh speakers and themes each time.
