Lagos to Host the Biggest Stablecoin Conference in the World – Nigeria Stablecoin Summit

The biggest disruption in the history of money has arrived! Stablecoins are transforming how we view money, payments, and finance—and Africa is right at the heart of this shift. It’s the only continent where stablecoins have found perfect product-market fit, with Nigeria leading the charge. According to Chainalysis’ Global Adoption Index, Nigeria ranks second globally in cryptocurrency adoption.

With the world’s largest youth population, one of the fastest-growing economies, and deep crypto penetration, Africa is the region to watch—now and in the future. Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, even stated that “⅓ of Nigerian GDP is conducted in USDT.” Driven from the grassroots, stablecoin adoption for payments and remittances has become an unstoppable movement. While stablecoins may be a convenience in the West, they are a financial lifeline in Africa—used for receiving remittances, sending money to family, paying for goods and services, and more. In Africa, stablecoins are not a luxury; they are a necessity. Anyone who wants to stay relevant in the finance world must take their use in Africa seriously.

The Africa Stablecoin Network (ASN) is stepping forward to lead meaningful dialogue and offer real solutions to the unique challenges facing Africa’s stablecoin economy. ASN’s mission is to “create a unified network for all stakeholders in the stablecoin industry, facilitating knowledge exchange, advocacy, and the development of robust infrastructures that support financial inclusion and economic growth.” In line with this, ASN will host The Nigeria Stablecoin Summit, a landmark event focused on everything stablecoins and borderless payments.

On July 24, Lagos will host the largest stablecoin conference in the world. “This is a very special gathering—a pivotal moment that will shape the future of payments in Nigeria and beyond. While stablecoins are a luxury for the West, they are an economic lifeline for Africa. We invite startups, companies, and stakeholders in Nigeria’s cross-border payments space to collaborate as we define the future of borderless payments in Nigeria,” says Nathaniel Luz, President of the Africa Stablecoin Network.
