Marketing In Action (MIA) has launched MIA Academy, an execution-first learning platform designed to train job-ready product marketing, growth, and go-to-market talent, and connect them directly to employers through MIA Jobs.

MIA Academy was built to address a persistent disconnect in the marketing talent market. While demand for product marketing and growth roles continues to rise, many employers report difficulty hiring candidates who can demonstrate real execution experience rather than theoretical knowledge. At the same time, marketers invest heavily in courses that rarely translate into confident, on-the-job performance.

The academy’s flagship program, Product & Growth Marketing with AI for Modern Marketers, has already enrolled 54 learners in its first cohort, signaling early demand for applied, execution-led training tied to real career outcomes.

“MIA Academy exists to shorten the distance between learning and employment,” said James Praise, founder of Marketing In Action. “Hiring teams don’t need more certificates. They need people who can show how they think, execute, and ship work. The academy is designed to produce that level of proof.”

Unlike traditional marketing courses, MIA Academy is embedded within the broader MIA ecosystem, which includes a newsletter, community, and MIA Jobs, a hiring platform where employers recruit GTM talent based on demonstrated execution. Learners apply frameworks to real scenarios, receive feedback from practitioners, and graduate with tangible work artifacts that can be evaluated by hiring teams.

Early participants say the focus on practical execution has changed how they work day to day.

“What stood out for me was how practical everything was. I didn’t have to guess how to apply it at work,” said Theodore Nnah, Product Marketer.

“I’ve taken courses before, but this actually changed how I approach product marketing in my day-to-day work,” said Chidinma Ezeani, Marketing Manager.

“I’ve been in product marketing for a while, but this helped me think more clearly about what I was already doing,” said Tunde Adewale, Senior Product Marketing Manager.

“The way things were broken down made it easier to act, not just understand,” added Despina Maris, Product Marketer.

The launch comes amid broader concerns about skills readiness across the marketing profession. Industry research shows that over 60% of marketing teams report gaps in core marketing effectiveness and execution skills, reinforcing the need for training models that prioritize applied work over passive learning.

The academy’s flagship program, Product & Growth Marketing with AI for Modern Marketers, is a 13-week live, cohort-based bootcamp focused on real product marketing and go-to-market execution. Participants work through positioning, launches, growth experiments, lifecycle systems, and AI-supported workflows using real scenarios, not simulations. The program emphasizes hands-on assignments, structured feedback, and reusable systems that mirror how modern GTM teams operate, enabling learners to produce tangible work artifacts they can apply directly in their roles or present to hiring teams.

Enrollment is now open. Learners can explore programs and receive a recommended learning path at MarketingInAction
