Pan-African edtech startup TalentQL expands flagship product, AltSchool to Europe

TalentQL, a pan-African talent training and recruitment company has announced the expansion of its flagship product, AltSchool to Europe.

Yesterday, December 2, 2024, TalentQL Co-founder and AltSchool CEO Adewale Yusuf announced AltSchool Europe at the Super Charger demo day in Malta.

“Expanding to Europe allows us to bring this vision to a region facing its own unique challenges in the workforce,” Adewale said. “Malta serves as the launchpad for this bold expansion, with its vibrant tech ecosystem and government support.”

The European expansion looks to facilitate a connection between businesses facing talent shortages and individuals aspiring to enhance their skills for future employment opportunities.

Since its inception, AltSchool has successfully enrolled over 100,000 students in a diverse range of programmes, including engineering, business, creative industries, and cybersecurity. To further its mission, AltSchool is expanding its operations to Europe, with an initial focus on cloud engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science.

While the African operations primarily leverage an online delivery model, the European expansion will adopt a hybrid approach, centered in Malta, to facilitate both in-person and online engagements. To diversify its revenue streams, AltSchool is also exploring innovative business models, such as B2B and B2B2C.

The company has been preparing for its European expansion for some time. In February, they received full accreditation from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). ASIC is a leading international accreditation agency recognised in over 70 countries, including the UK where it’s accepted by UKVI for visa purposes. For this launch, AltSchool is partnering with Malta Enterprise and the Ministry of Education.
