Global ride-hailing giant Bolt is marking Customer Service Week with what it calls a national thank-you tour. The company is giving 300 drivers ₦5,000 ($3) Chicken Republic meal vouchers across 10 cities. Riders aren’t left out either; there’s a ₦1 million ($670) ride credit prize up for grabs through an Instagram bingo game.
In Lagos, 150 drivers will be hosted to lunch at Bolt’s Driver Engagement Centre, with prizes and fun activities like lucky dips. The event runs under the theme “Bolt Says Thanks” and “Our Daily Heroes.”
General Manager Osi Oguah said,
“At Bolt, we believe our drivers and riders are the real heroes who make what we do possible every single day. This week is about saying thank you to them for their dedication, loyalty, and the positive spirit they bring to our community.”
Still, some observers find Bolt’s version of appreciation curious. In an economy where fuel prices and maintenance costs continue to rise, ₦5,000 meal vouchers may not seem like much. It’s a small but symbolic gesture, showing that the company wants to stay visible and connected to its base, even if rewards remain modest.
Beyond the festivities, Bolt remains Nigeria’s most-downloaded mobility app of 2025 so far. The week’s celebration reads like a loyalty exercise—a reminder that in Nigeria’s ride-hailing space, keeping hearts may now matter as much as keeping wheels moving.
