Cyril Collon

General Partner at Partech Africa

About

Cyril Collon is a General Partner and co-lead of Partech Africa, the institutional venture capital platform he co-built alongside Tidjane Deme since joining in 2016. Based in France, Collon has been central to Partech Africa's investment strategy across two funds managing over $300 million, backing founders across fintech, health tech, logistics, enterprise software, and beyond. His portfolio spans some of the continent's most consequential companies, and his work has helped establish Partech as one of the benchmark institutional funds in African venture capital — closing its second fund in February 2024 after pitching more than 360 investors.

Collon belongs on the Borderless 100 because the shape of African tech is determined in part by who decides to fund it at what moment, and his track record of backing companies like Wave, Yoco, TradeDepot, Nomba, Reliance Health, and TerraPay has been genuinely consequential for the ecosystem. His emphasis on conviction-led investing at Seed through Series B places him among the investors most directly responsible for what the continent's tech industry looks like today.
