Aronu Ugochukwu is part of a generation of Nigerian builders who saw blockchain as more than a speculative asset class. As co-founder of Xend Finance, he helped build decentralised savings and financial infrastructure designed to give users access to new forms of yield and financial participation. Importantly, the company emerged from Enugu rather than Nigeria's better-known Lagos technology ecosystem, adding another geography to the country's blockchain story. Ugochukwu belongs on the Borderless 100 because decentralised finance has always challenged the idea that financial infrastructure must respect national boundaries and Xend Finance represents an African attempt to build that infrastructure from the continent itself.
